New IT landscape for Almatis
Lufthansa Systems today announced that the company has been commissioned by Almatis, the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality specialty alumina chemicals, to set up a new IT infrastructure. This includes 15 locations in Europe, in the USA and in Asia. After the implementation has been completed in April 2005, the IT provider will subsequently assume responsibility for its smooth operation.

Maersk Air and Star Air: New Customers of Lufthansa Systems' Network Management Solution
Following a decision to update their IT landscape, Maersk Air and Star Air have now decided to implement Lufthansa Systems' Network Management Solution NetLine. Both airlines found their requirements for an integrated, modular software system best fulfilled by the NetLine products NetLine/Sched, NetLine/Ops, and NetLine/Crew from Lufthansa Systems. In particular, Maersk Air and Star Air opted for Preferential Bidding, the NetLine/Crew module which takes care of crew satisfaction by integrating personal preferences and needs of the crew members into the rostering process. Making use of the Pref Optimizer, crew members can enter their individual preferences for a given bidding period, e.g. for flights to a specific destination, night stops and layovers, weekend duties, or early/late check-in.

Lufthansa Systems implements e-ticket interlining between Air Canada und Lufthansa
From now on, all Air Canada and Lufthansa customers can use electronic tickets on their partner airline’s flights. This means that passengers on both airlines no longer need paper tickets and can check in for their flights quickly and easily at the partner airline’s check-in counters or terminals. In the course of 2005, Lufthansa Systems will implement the exchange of electronic tickets between the Star Alliance partners Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, British Midland, LOT Polish Airlines and the other members of the Alliance.

Optimized information flow for problem reporting at Lufthansa Technik
Lufthansa Systems has now developed a new maintenance record information system (Maris) for Lufthansa Technik. The MRO provider is thus able to optimize the way it is handling problem reports on the state of the aircraft. More than 4,000 maintenance experts at Lufthansa Technik as well as flight crews, control center and the technical pilots can now take advantage of a state of the art system which keeps them abreast of the state of the entire Lufthansa fleet.

TACA successfully implements check-in solution from Lufthansa Systems
Latin American airline TACA is now able to check in passengers flying out of Miami airport with FrontCheck, Lufthansa Systems' intelligent front-end solution for check-in. With the recent cut-over TACA has taken the first step to migrating all of its stations. The project is set to be completed by spring of next year.
