Denim Air opts for Lufthansa Systems' NetLine
The Netherlands based airline Denim Air has decided to put its ambitious business expansion plans into action using NetLine. Denim Air will rely on NetLine as its future management information system and has opted for NetLine/Ops, the Operations Control Solution, and NetLine/Crew, the Crew Management System; in particular, it is the first customer to have signed for Preferential Bidding with regard to the high flexibility expected from its crews and in return the commitment to increase crew satisfaction.
The NetLine/Crew module Pref Optimizer takes into account the individual needs and preferences of the crew members, such increasing job satisfaction and ensuring stability of the duty plans, in one word higher service quality for the customers. The project started last week with the installation of equipment and software and will run until March 2005. The system is set to go live for crew use on January 1, 2005.

Consulting Study for Air China Cargo
Lufthansa Systems is currently conducting a scope study for Air China Cargo. The main focus of this consultancy project lies on determining the range of an initial executive system based on the freight carrier's current SITA cargo system. The scoping study has three main thrusts: determination of key performance indicators, analysis of relevant processes and the analysis of interfaces to Air China Cargo's current system. The results of the study will be presented to Air China Cargo in the beginning of August.

Lufthansa Systems conquers US market with its proven FMS database
Lufthansa Systems today announced that AirTran Airways, the Orlando-based low cost airline, will be the first customer in the United States to deploy its FMS (Flight Management System) navigation database. Used successfully by more than 100 airlines worldwide, the FMS database supplies comprehensive navigation data for cockpit systems and contains important route information including altitude data and alternate airports.

Lufthansa Systems becomes a LICON partner
Together with LICON (Logistic Ident Consortium), founded by the logistics service provider Kühne + Nagel (K+N), Lufthansa Systems will establish quality standards for "identification solutions" in the logistics industry and will strengthen its position as an RFID solution integrator.

TACA awards major IT services contract to Lufthansa Systems
TACA, (Air Transport of the American Continent), leading airline in Latin America, will soon use Lufthansa Systems' IT solutions for most of its core processes. This includes NetLine products for flight planning, operations control, and crew management, the revenue management system ProfitLine/Yield and MultiHost, which automates key airline-relevant core processes for passengers in reservations and at airports. In addition, all aspects of flight route planning at TACA will be supported by Lido Operation Center (Lido OC).

"ELWIS" from Lufthansa Systems controls cargo handling at Robin Hood Airport in the UK
Lufthansa Systems today announced that the Cargo Handling Centre (CHC) at the new Robin Hood Airport in Doncaster / Sheffield (DSA) will be the first British company to install its ELWIS IT solution. ELWIS accelerates cargo handling and ensures seamless communication between all parties involved in the transportation of cargo, for instance by providing a link to British customs (UK HM Customs).

Campus eXPerience: Lufthansa Systems successfully concludes its largest roll-out project ever
Lufthansa Systems today announced that it has successfully completed the modernization of 9,500 IT workplaces of Lufthansa Passage Airlines at 350 sites worldwide. The final sites were equipped with a new IT infrastructure by end of June. From now on, Lufthansa Passage will be using the standardized, Windows XP-based "Campus eXPerience" (CeXP) application platform throughout the company. This project has enabled Lufthansa Passage to simplify its application environment and thus to reduce its maintenance and administration costs.

Schedule management from Lufthansa Systems now being used by Shanghai Airlines
The Flight Scheduling system of Shanghai Airlines was successfully switched over to the NetLine/Sched system from Lufthansa Systems on June 30, 2004. With this cutover, the Chinese airline can now create flight schedules more quickly and efficiently and can react to changes immediately.
