Airbus has successfully integrated the electronic Lido eRouteManual and the airport and
route charts from Lufthansa Systems into the On-board Information System (OIS) of the
A380. Since last year, Airbus and the IT services provider have been working on a
complete solution for the paperless cockpit as part of their cooperation.
The eRouteManual from Lufthansa Systems gives Airbus customers the choice to complement
the Airbus On-board Information System. This is a critical milestone on the way to a paperless
cockpit. The joint solution from Airbus and Lufthansa Systems offers an attractive option for
airlines and significant added value to pilots thanks to its sophisticated flight operations
functionalities.
„The integration of our chart solution into the cockpit of the A380 highlights our pioneering role
in flight information services. The successful first step to the integration of our solution is the
result of the excellent cooperation between Airbus and Lufthansa Systems. Our customers have
every reason to expect both economic benefits and simplified logistics as a result of this
cooperation", says Wolfgang F. W. Gohde, chief executive officer, Lufthansa Systems Group
GmbH.
Lufthansa Systems will offer its eRouteManual for all Airbus electronic flight bags (EFBs). The
eRouteManual presents a worldwide data set of airport and enroute aeronautical information,
detailed taxi, departure and approach charts as well as global, seamless enroute moving charts.
The Lufthansa Systems state-of-the-art, fully database driven chart production allows unique
functionalities, like single-procedure presentation for standard instrument departures and arrivals,
chart presentation always to scale and minimum sector altitude visualization. In addition, the
eRouteManual allows access to all textual information like the Route Manual General part,
country regulations or airport operating information.
