Offering the air traffic industry’s first Integrated Operations Control Center
Operational control is a complex task and can, in a way, be compared with the mission control center in aerospace. All operational activities are monitored and controlled in the operations center. A lot of information has to be processed, many decisions have to be made quickly, and many experts from all affected areas have to work together in order to convey passengers to their booked destination on time and at minimum costs to the airline. Cooperating parties are Operations Control, Maintenance Control, Crew Tracking, Flight Dispatch, and Station Control.
With the Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC), Lufthansa Systems offers the first integrated IT platform for controlling and monitoring all these operational activities to airlines. This is achieved by combining well-proven software solutions like Lido OC and NetLine. Lido OC covers all aspects of flight planning and following procedures and NetLine supports all aspects of the core processes of an airline from strategic planning to operations control and crew tracking. Both Lido OC and NetLine have modular structures. Their interfaces guarantee airlines a seamless process of operations control. For all purposes of operational control, the IOCC integrates and optimizes information flow and work processes, at the same time providing all available updates of aeronautical information. It features an easy-to-use graphical user interface and supports active decision-making. IOCC’s dynamic interfaces allow for communications with all related business areas.
This combination meets the airline industry’s demand for an efficient and integrated approach to control and monitor everyday operations. To this day, the majority of airlines is working with stand-alone software solutions. In contrast to traditional operations control software, Lufthansa Systems’ IOCC offers a platform that not only controls and monitors but at the same time simplifies and shortens operating processes.
Lufthansa Systems recently hosted a conference in Toronto introducing its Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC) to the industry. From July 14 to 15, airline executives and industry experts had the chance to discuss opportunities for shaping the future of integrated operations together with Lufthansa System.
