PATRIS® , the integrated software solution for public transport, will enable SWB Bus und Bahn to optimize its sales operations and to accelerate its accounting processes significantly. A contract to that effect was signed recently by Lufthansa Systems and the local public transport company of Stadtwerke Bonn (SWB), the city's municipal utility company.
All sales channels of SWB Bus und Bahn will be integrated into PATRIS®, including the sale of individual and season tickets at the customer center and at vending machines. The system also maps the e-ticketing sales of season tickets through electronic purses (prepaid cards) and the transport chip card of the regional Rhein-Sieg transport network VRS. In addition to offering background sales data processing, PATRIS® also provides seamless interfaces to sales systems and to the financial accounting department. SWB Bus und Bahn has become very familiar with PATRIS through many years of operating joint accounting systems with KVB, the Cologne transit authority.
"We have found a system which enables us to map sales processes completely and comprehensively. By using PATRIS®, we achieve great pricing and product flexibility, efficient accounting and full transparency of all sales data. We are convinced that Lufthansa Systems is a strong technology partner to us who can offer us in-depth industry expertise and excellent service", says Rainer Götz, Director Sales and Marketing and member of the executive management of SWB Bus und Bahn.
The services of Stadtwerke Bonn are used by some 78 million customers each year. Stadtwerke Bonn operates 249 regular buses and about 100 streetcars and suburban trains.
