Austrian Airlines enters into a CUTE Future
The CUTE (Common Use Terminal Equipment) system enables airlines to jointly use the IT
infrastructure at airports' operational areas, such as the gate, check-in or transfer
areas. Austrian Airlines benefits from this system provided by such companies as ARINC,
RESA, or SITA both at its Vienna hub and at 16 further stations.
Lufthansa Systems has recently completed the implementation of CUTE Future for Austrian
Airlines at all 17 stations, which acts as an interface between the providers' CUTE systems
and the airline's own IT environment. This allows for a significant reduction of the
previous costs and expenditures in the context of certifications of system modifications.
At Austrian Airlines 300 workstations were affected by the changeover at the Vienna airport
alone.
