Since the end of April, the Latin American airline TACA has been using Lufthansa
Systems solutions in several key business areas. Following the successful inventory
migration, all passenger-related processes, such as reservations and check-in, are
now hosted centrally. Additionally, Lufthansa Systems implemented a next generation
revenue management system at TACA.
TACA is now utilizing the integrated passenger management solution from Lufthansa
Systems to automate its core passenger processes sales, electronic ticketing and
passenger handling. In cooperation with Amadeus, Lufthansa Systems successfully
transferred all of TACA's inventory, consisting of over 200,000 data sets and close to
500,000 e-tickets, to the new systems in the night of April 23, 2005.
Highlight of this
migration was the successful merge of the inventories of Aviateca, LACSA and TACA
into a single inventory. The sequential cut-over, starting November 2004, of TACA’s 40
check-in stations to an user-friendly check-in interface with process intelligence has
simplified and improved the handling processes since December 2004.
"Our goal is to leverage innovative IT technology to expand our position as Latin America's
leading airline. Our new integrated platform from Lufthansa Systems enables us to improve
our core service process to our valuable passengers. My congratulations to the Lufthansa
Systems, Amadeus and TACA team for a highly professional and successful migration,"
said Alfredo Schildknecht, president of TACA.
"This project is an important step for us in this region, and we are proud that TACA chose
our portfolio. Our integrated solutions for sales, ground processes and operations provide
our customers with a decisive competitive edge. This successful project for TACA clearly
demonstrates the power of our solutions," says Wolfgang F. W. Gohde, CEO of Lufthansa
Systems.
Starting in June, TACA will introduce the Lido Operation Center (Lido OC), a new weight and
balance system and NetLine/Crew to optimize its flight, route planning and crew
management.
