Lufthansa Systems implements e-ticketing at Garuda Indonesia
Lufthansa Systems' joint venture with Garuda Indonesia can celebrate its first milestone.
Established in 2005, the jointly held Lufthansa Systems Indonesia has successfully implemented
e-ticketing for the Indonesian carrier. This cutover marks the beginning of the complete
modernization of Garuda's Commercial IT landscape, continued by the introduction of
Lufthansa Systems solutions for pricing and network planning in the next few months.
Lufthansa Systems has taken on a pioneering role in the introduction of e-ticketing as
demanded by IATA. The IT service provider has created a state-of-the-art solution that
handles the e-ticketing processes which deviate from conventional ticketing and check-in
processes and allows these processes to be integrated into the existing system. Around
ten years ago, the IT service provider introduced e-ticketing for Lufthansa under the
brand name of "etix".
As regional systems development and operating center, Lufthansa Systems Indonesia is focused
on providing integrated IT solutions for all airline core processes. This ranges from
reservations, inventory, check-in, network optimization, revenue management, pricing, and
scheduling, to integrated operations control and crew management solutions. In addition to
the presence in Indonesia Lufthansa Systems has offices in Singapore, Bangkok, Delhi,
Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Sydney.
