More than 100 new jobs – Close cooperation with Hungarian universities

Lido eFlightBagThe new Dutch carrier Amsterdam Airlines will start its flight operations paperless and will rely on the Lido eFlightBag from Lufthansa Systems. The electronic flight bag solution optimizes information processes in the cockpit and avoids flight bags normally packed with paper documents. At the same time, an EFB-solution offers access to all relevant operational data, like the operational flight plan, briefing documents, operations manuals and manufacturers information.

“A paperless cockpit brings a lot of efficiency into our flight operations. At the same time it reduces the workload, which means additional safety. Therefore we have decided to start paperless from day one and we have selected the most advanced solution available”, said Jaap Horsten, Managing Director of Amsterdam Airlines. “The Lido eFlightBag of Lufthansa Systems gives us utmost flexibility for our fleet planning, because we can be sure to have the best solution regardless which airplanes we will select for future growth.”

Lido eFlightBag integrates a variety of applications for the paperless planning and execution of flights. Amsterdam Airlines will operate the full EFB-suite of Lufthansa Systems. Both partners signed a five-year contract for the Lido eFlightBag suite including modules for take-off performance analysis and electronic navigation charts. The Dutch start-up Amsterdam Airlines has been established in 2007 and will commence operation in mid 2008. The company has its base in Amsterdam and focuses on flights for third parties, both on the charter market and in luxury scheduled services at first and business class level.

“Amsterdam Airlines is joining the growing family of operators worldwide who rely on our successful Lido eFlightBag solution. Its decision underscores that the Lido eFlightBag meets the needs of any airline regardless of its business model”, says Marc Szepan, Senior Vice President Airline Operations Solutions at Lufthansa Systems.
