Europe's largest airline opts for Sirax AirFinance Platform

Sirax AirFinance PlatformLufthansa Systems today announced that Air France and KLM will optimize their revenue accounting processes using the Sirax AirFinance Platform. Philippe Calavia, Chief Financial Officer of Air France-KLM, and Wolfgang F.W. Gohde, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Lufthansa Systems signed a seven-year contract. The integrated IT solution will enable the two airlines to speed up their financial management processes and increase productivity. KLM is already a long-standing customer for Lido OC, the flight planning system from Lufthansa Systems.

"The Sirax AirFinance Platform will standardize the revenue accounting systems and processes of both airlines and simplify our internal billing,” explained Henri Dillies, VP Revenue Accounting at Air France. Lufthansa Systems will introduce the Sirax, SiraxCredit and SiraxView modules for Air France by May 2009 and then implement the system for KLM. While the two airlines will continue to operate revenue accounting on separate environments, they will have shared access to many functions and data in the future.

“The Sirax AirFinance Platform is replacing our current Sales- and Revenue Accounting systems, which were developed in-house. We’ve opted for the integrated airline finance IT solution from Lufthansa Systems because it’s the most advanced system available and it meets all our requirements,” said John de Hollander, Director of Revenue Accounting at KLM.

Wolfgang F. W. Gohde added, “I am very proud that Air France-KLM, Europe’s largest airline, has decided to use one of our innovative platform solutions. This contract win once again confirms that we are on the right track with our strategy. Our integrated platforms are complete, flexible solutions that deliver considerable added value for our customers."

The Sirax AirFinance Platform from Lufthansa Systems is the first integrated platform to optimize all of an airline’s financial processes. Sirax controls and manages an airline's billing process by performing a fully automatic check of ticket sales against actual flight data. Integrated sub-processes also support the billing of interline flights between airlines. Based on this check, the actual revenues are then calculated within a very short timeframe.

SiraxView offers airlines the full functionality of a traditional management information system. Based on targeted analysis and evaluation, airlines can identify the effect of individual marketing activities on revenues or check the profitability of their routes. The SiraxCredit module enables fast, precise and fully automated accounting and the invoicing of transactions by credit card and electronic direct debit.
